About the Artist

Diane Gremillion - Biography

Diane Gremillion grew up in Texas with an early appreciation for creativity and visual storytelling. She took her first oil painting lesson at 10 years old. After high school, she moved to London to attend Richmond University, where she lived for four years. She received a BFA degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Drawing. Immersed in the culture, architecture, and artistic heritage of Europe, she developed a broadened perspective that continues to influence her work today.

Following graduation, Diane moved to Pennsylvania, where she began freelance graphic design work before transitioning into the corporate world with Mobil Oil. There she worked in administrative and human resources roles, gaining valuable organizational and leadership experience while continuing to nurture her creative instincts.

In 2000, Diane relocated to Ruidoso, New Mexico — a move that marked a significant turning point. Surrounded by the light, landscape, and artistic community of the Southwest, she balanced graphic design with a deepening commitment to fine art. Over the next eight years, she completed numerous commissioned works, participated in art shows, and sold both original paintings and fine art prints, steadily building her presence as an artist.

In 2009, Diane became the publisher of a real estate magazine, blending business leadership with design expertise. After retiring from that role in 2024, she transitioned into publishing for the local theater’s program while continuing freelance photography for realtors. Through every chapter — corporate, publishing, and photography — Diane never stopped painting or drawing.

Working in acrylic, gouache, watercolor, oils, and pastels, Diane creates expressive pieces inspired by nature, light, and atmosphere. Her work blends abstraction and impressionism, focusing on color relationships, texture, and movement. Now working toward dedicating herself to art full-time, Diane continues to explore and evolve, guided by a lifelong commitment to creativity.
